Some clarification about the roomba vacuum?
Assuming money is no object, would you say that the roomba is worth it? My Mom has been wanting it for some time and I wanna get it for her since she’s always vacuuming and I gotta help her lol.
There’s a lot of furniture in my house so I’m not sure if it’ll really be efficient. The couches aren’t high enough so that it can just slide down there and clean so I’d have to move it back. Also the dining table has chairs are pushed in so I’d have to move the chairs back. Just stating some of this stuff just to determine if it’s worth it.
Which model is a good one? I’ve heard the 500s have a problem with the side brush.
Also, do the vacuums die easily? I’ve read that they can just die after a year or so. When they die can they be fixed with just a new battery?
Thanks.

They are quite efficient. They go right up to the walls and into corners and under beds. I have had mine for about 6 years and only had to replace the battery once. It’s a Roomba Discovery.
Sometimes it gets clogged up with dust and will not move around the floor properly. The easiest way to clean the dust out is to use the canned freon spray that you clean electronic equiqment with. It’s much easier than taking it all apart. I hear that the newer models are sealed so that the dust cannot get into the interior of them.
I like it because it is very quiet. The only drawback is that they only clean one room at a time and then you have to charge the battery to do the next room. But it only takes 45 minutes to charge up the battery and then you can start it up again.
I was house sitting a place recently that had one.
Roombas are good.
It was set to go in the middle of the day when no one was around and would always go back to the charger itself so it wasn’t a problem.
It was very efficient in its cleaning.
The owner told me it worked best if cleaner regularly, so I did, every day when I got home I would empty the dirt it collected and quickly clean of any build up on the rollers (it only takes a second to empty).
Buy the newest model you can afford.
The one in the house I was looking after was very new. The owner said he had had one before and had upgraded… he raved about how much better the new one was.
